Peerless Inn to entice more customers with its indoor Hawaiin theme

Kolkata, May 15 (UNI) With soft numbers from ABBA playing in the background and the enticing aroma of Hawaiin cuisines and mocktails, Peerless Inn's Restobar "Ego" has found a unique way to attract customers.

''With Grand and the Park Hotel in the vicinity, we at Peerless Inn want to give our customers something more with its ambience, cuisines and entertainment,'' Peerless Inn's Food and Beverage Manager Sumanta Maity said here today.

''Every month, we introduce a variety of themes to entertain our customers. This time we have introduced the Hawaiin theme and brought "Musicbite", an internationally acclaimed Phillipino band, which is basically known for their Hawaiin-Latino music,'' he said.

Mr Maity highlighted the uniqueness of the Hawaiin theme in Kolkata since no one in the city has so far thought of this.

Asked about the genuineness of the ambience created in an indoor bar, he said, ''Being far from the ocean, there is no scope for an outdoor bar in Kolkata. But, the Hawaiin theme always brings something special into food and drinks and creates an ambience most suitable for a restobar.

''The live band performance will add to the ambience the Hawaiin touch, while the customers take a sip of our special, refreshing mocktails and munch on vegetarian and non-vegetarian nibblers,'' added Mr Maity.

The restobar claims to offer exquisite Hawaiin cuisines along with cocktails and mocktails suitably altered for the Indian palate.

Among its cuisine specialties, Mr Maity mentioned the "Hula Mula crab" made from marinated crabs and spiced with Tapiniyaki sauce, a Japanese preparation popular in Hawaii.

Among the cocktails, the "Chelsea in Hawaii" and "Hawaiin Sling" are among the best, the Food and Beverage Manager said, adding, ''Everyone who visits our restobar must taste the "Lupe Lamora", "Hawaiin Mystique" and the "Money Penny", which are among our selected range mocktails.

''These drinks are from the theme from the Bond Girls in Hawaii,'' said Maity explaining that these were what the James Bond girls took when they were in Hawaii.

The Band - Musicbite - is a Phillipino band which has so far performed in many other countries, including Japan, China, South Korea and Hong Kong. Rhea, Lorra and Robert, the band's members have a lively performance with mainly Latino numbers like Black Magic Woman (Santana), Liv La Vida Loca (Ricky Martin), Wherever, Whenever (Shakira), and also songs by Afro-American singers like Diana King(Shy Guy) and Boney M(Daddy Cool).

Other than these, the restobar maintains those melodious ABBA numbers that have featured the beautiful island of Hawaii.

"Ego" started business since July last year.
