Nok Airto intro B'lore-Bankok service from June 1
Bangalore, May 15: Thailand's low fare airline, Nok Air today announced its entry into Indian Aviation scene with the introduction of Bangalore-Bangkok service from June One.
Nok Air Chief Executive Officer Patee Sarsin told newsmen here that the service would be of different kind as compared to any other airlines. "Nok Air would give the Indian flying public an opportunity to experience shopping at Southeast Asia's biggest and most luxurious shopping complex Slam Paragon, to the vibrant Chatuchak weekend market and everywhere between, all over the city and beyond Bangkok, which is not only a shopper's paradise, but also enriched by its cultural sites and adventuroous nightlife, naking it one of the world's most popular tourist destinations" he said.
Replying to a question, he said that he did not believe in providing a low cost carrier but real experience of flying. Nok Air is the world's first 'Shoppers Airline', he claimed.
He said that Nok Air at present has a fleet of seven aircraft and it would be increased to 11 by the year end.
To another question,he said that it was proposed to introduce services from Chennai and Hyderabad.
He said that from June One daily service would be operated by Boeing 737-400 with a capacity of 150 seats.
Mr Sarasin said that the company registered a Rs 500 Million turnover in 2006 with 400 per cent profit. Over two million passengers had travelled with the Airline since 2004 and this year it was targetted to carry three million passengers.
He said the introductory fare for 45 days would be Rs 9999 for Bangalore-Bangkok-Bangalore.
