Employees Association President to stage 'fast unto death'

Gulbarga, May 15 (UNI) Karnataka State Daily Wage Employees Association President Chandrasekhar Hiremath will stage 'fast unto death' in Bangalore from June 11 demanding regularisation of 15,000 daily wagers in the state.

Talking to newspersons here, Mr Hiremath alleged that though a Cabinet Sub-committee was constituted four months back with PWD Minister as its head, not even a single meeting of the Sub-Committee was held.

He recalled that Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy had promised in the Legislative Assembly to regularise the daily wage employees working in various departments but the promise was yet to be fulfilled.

Mr Hiremath said he would observe fast unto death from June 11 and all the 15,000 daily wagers would assemble in Bangalore and stage dharna on that day to mount pressure on the government.
