Addressing a press conference here, Members of Legislative Council Mohammed Jani and R Padmaraju said the government had celebrated the event to review the progress made during the last three years in the state and to finalise steps to be taken in the next two years.

They alleged that the TDP government had during its regime had not thought about the development and welfare of the farmers, poor people and Dalits.

The leaders said the government had prepared an Action Plan 2009 on 20 issues which would be implemented in the next two years for the overall development of the state and the people.

They said the government had decided to provide water to one crore acres of land with an investment of Rs one lakh crore with a view to bring more land under cultivation.

They said the government had distributed 30 lakh pensions to aged people, widows and handicapped people as a social security measure in the state and decided to give another 30 lakh new pensions during the next two years.

They alleged that the TDP was making baseless allegations against the government and the party to gain political mileage.
