BJP making Rajasthan testing ground for Hindutva-Digvijay Singh
Ajmer, May 15 (UNI) Congress General Secretary and Madhya Pradesh former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh today alleged that the BJP led state government wanted to convert Rajasthan into a testing ground for pro Hindutva forces on the lines of Gujarat.
Addressing a public meeting at Kishangarh near here, organised by the Congress to mark the 150th anniversary of the 1857 mutiny, Mr Singh alleged that the BJP and its saffron brigade was working against the minorities in a planned way and trying to disrupt the communal peace and harmony in the state.
He called on the Congress workers to continue to work for the welfare of SC, ST and minorities and counter the communal forces' designs with their continued efforts for strengthening communal harmony.
Congress General Secretary, incharge of Rajasthan unit affairs, Mukul Vasnik said the political parties like BJP, BSP and SP were out to damage the country and society in the name of caste, creed, religion and region for their vested political mileage where as the Congress always strived for secularism and nationalistic policies even after paying heavy costs.
Former Rajasthan Chief Ministers Ashok Gehlot and Shiv Charan Mathur, Leader of the Opposition in Rajasthan assembly Ram Narain Chaudhary, Union Ministers Sheesh Ram Ola and Namo Narain Meena party state president B D Kalla and several others also spoke on the occasion.
