Two youths killed one teenaged girl, rape another

Rajkot, May 14 (UNI) Two unidentified youths allegedly killed a 17-year-old girl and raped another one at Datar mountain the outskirts of Junagadh city.

The victims, along with their family members, had yesterday gone to Datar to pray to the ddeity on their return journey, they were separated from their families. Meanwhile, two youths threatened the girls at a knife point and took them to a dense forest, where the miscreants allegedly slit the throat of Chandni after she resisted their attempts to rape her, according to the police.

Another teenaged girl, frightened by the incident, was allegedly raped by the miscreants.

The deceased was a resident of Rajkot city, while another girl was resident of Junagadh and both were relatives, police said.

Investigating police officer B G Mori told UNI by phone that six persons have been rounded up and manhunt has been launched to nab the main culprits.

The police have recovered the body of Chandni from the jungle and sent for the post-mortem, he said.

The another victim has been admitted to the hospital with severe injuries on her body, Mr Mori added.
