SIOI to oppose sex education in schools
Gulbarga, May 14 (UNI) The Student Islamic Organisation of India (SIOI) will vehemently oppose introduction of sex education chapters in primary and high schools.
SIOI state secretary Md Zubari, addressing a press conference here today said his organisation had discussed the issue with the leaders of ABVP, SFI and AISF and all of them had expressed reservations over bringing in sex education in schools.
''Sex education is not an education, but seducing and misleading the teenaged boys and girls. It will have serious repercussions,'' he opined.
Stating that sex education would create unnecessary curiosity among teenage students and attract them towards sex, he said. ''The lessons on sex education will not only send wrong messages to students but provocate them to carry out experiments''.
The SIOI would launch a month-long ''national level'' campaign from tomorrow till June 15, with a view to bringing back dropouts to the schools. The activists would also conduct a survey in slums about the rate of school dropouts and hold counselling sessions with the parents.
