NCP, CPI(ML) and AJSU files candidate for Daltonganj byelection

Daltonganj, May 14 (UNI) Altogether five candidates today filed their nominations for Daltonganj byelection taking the total to 10.

Official sources said nominations were filed by Vinay Kumar Singh (Nationalist Congress Party), Anil Chaurasia (All Jharkhand Students Union), Jaiprakash Minj (CPI-ML) and two independent candidates.

JD(U) candidate Neelu Mishra and former Speaker Inder Singh Namdhari would file their nominations tommorrow.

The candidates from Congress, Bahujan Samaj Party and Jharkhand Vikas Morcha had already filed their nominations.

The last date for filing nomination is May 15 and scrutiny of the papers would be done the next day.

The last date for withdrawal of names has been fixed on May 18.

The by-election is necessitated after sitting MLA and JD leader Inder Singh Namdhari resigned from the seat on March 29.

He has decided to fight the by-election as an independent candidate.
