GCCI to have First Woman President for 2007-08

Ahmedabad, May 14 (UNI) Asahi Songwon Colors Ltd CMD, Paruben Jayakrishna will be the new President of Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) for the year 2007-08.

GCCI sources said she will be the first woman president in the history of the Chamber and will be declared elected uncontested at the annual general meeting of the chamber to be held on June 26.

She will be assisted by Senior Vice President Kaushik D Shah and Vice President Samir N Patel alongwith 20 members of the executive committee including two corporate members, elected uncontested for the year 2007-08, since no others had filed their nominations for these posts during the last day of filing of nominations.

Among others elected in the executive committee members from the city were Ashish S Shah, Girish N Patel (Sterling hospital), Gautakumar M Jain, Jyotindra N Patel, Dinesh N Modi, Parimal Nathwani (Reliance), Pratap S Chandan, Biren D Parikh, Bipin R Patel, Mahendra N Patel, Rajiv Vastupal and Nilesh R Desai.

Executive committee members Mofussil are Ashish S Guru (Unjha), Narsingh A Agrawal (Gandhidham), Navinchandra C Jobanputra (Wadhwan), Praful R Talsania (Chhatral), Bhargav Thakkar (Harij) and Rameshbhai B Patel (Morbi).

Two Corporate members elected uncontested are Rakesh R Shah and Sanjay S Lalbhai.
