Mumbai, May 14 (UNI) The Central Public Works Department (CPWD) today moved an application in the Maharashtra Control for Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court, claiming ownership rights of Sara and Sahara twin complexes.

MCOCA judge Mridula Bhatkar, presiding over the Sara and Sahara case, neither accepted nor rejected the CPWD application, and directed CPWD counsel V Narayanan to file a fresh application tomorrow with more details pertaining to their ownership rights.

Sara and Sahara case is at the fag end as prosecution completed the arguments today itself and the defence began their arguments on the evidence. The defence has to complete their argument by the end of this month.

The Bombay High Court had directed the Sessions court to expedite the matter and complete trial by June 11.

Sara and Sahara complexes allegedly belong to underworld don Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar.

In this case, eight accused persons have been arrested including Dawood's younger brother Iqbal Kaskar and four Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) engineers.
