Bank of Baroda launches Kalinga campaign in Orissa

Bhubaneswar, May 14 (UNI) In a bid to serve the people of Orissa with the most advanced technology on Core Banking Service (CBS) platform, the Bank of Baroda today launched a month-long ''Kalinga campaign'' in the state to focus on popularising and marketing its new products.

BoB Head of Orissa, Operation, B K Savant told the newsmen here that the Baroda super savings Bank account and Baroda super savings account having lot of additional facilities to the customers would be introduced in the urban and rural areas respectively.

This apart, the Baroda Privilege current account and Baroda premium current account would be opened in the state.

The month-long campaign from May 15 would be aimed at creating awareness on the Bank's recently launched banking products, he said and announced that soon the BoB would establish a SME Loan factory in the state to cater to the small and medium enterprises providing them loan facilities from Rs one crore to Rs 100 core within a week.

Mr Savant said the Bank's total business in Orissa had gone up from Rs 838 crore in last year to Rs 1411 crore, registering 68 per cent growth, while the deposit had reflected around 90 per cent growth during the period from Rs 411 crore to Rs 799 crore.

He said with five new branches opened during 2006-2007, the Bank has now altogether 42 branches across the state and planned to add six more branches during the year.

The ATM network, Mr Savant said, would be expanded in the state with opening of 16 more ATM centres during 2007-2008 in addition to ten ATMs already functioning in the state.
