Husband, mother-in-law booked for murder attempt of woman

Rohtak, May 12 (UNI) Police has booked the husband of a woman and her mother-in-law on the charges of attempting to kill her at their house in Rainakpura locality here.

The police sources said today that the victim, Renu, wife of Satpal, was admitted to the PGIMS with burn injuries yesterday.

In her statement, recorded by the city police at the hospital, she alleged that her husband and mother-in-law, who had been harassing her for dowry since her marriage, poured kerosene on her and set her afire at their house. Her condition was described as serious by the doctors.

The police registered a case under section 498, 307 and 34 of the IPC against the victim's husband Satpal and mother-in-law in this connection and had started investigations.
