Gaya, May 13 (UNI) When even senior Police officials are not spared by the criminal gangs in Bihar, how the common people could be sure about their safety and security? This question surfaced after a gang of unidentified armed criminals raided the house of an IPS officer and looted valuables worth lakhs of rupees at Chiraila under Mufassil police station in the district early today.

Police said about 25 criminals armed with deadly weapons raided the ancestral house of Jharkhand cadre IPS officer Saket Kumar at Chiraila and looted a huge amount in cash besides some jewelleries and other valuables from the house. However, nobody was present in the house when the gang attacked.

A case has since been filed in the local police station to probe the dacoity and efforts were on to nab the culprits, the sources said but did not rule out the possibility of the involvement of local criminal gangs behind the incident.
