Armed criminals rob senior police officer's house in Bihar

Gaya, May 13 (UNI) A gang of unidentified armed criminals raided the house of an IPS officer and robbed valuables worth lakhs of rupees at Chiraila under Mufassil police station in the district early today.

Police said about 25 criminals armed with deadly weapons raided the ancestral house of Jharkhand cadre IPS officer Saket Kumar and took away a huge amount in cash besides some jewellery and other valuables from the house. However, nobody was present in the house when the gang attacked.

A case has been filed in the local police station and efforts were on to nab the culprits, the sources said but did not rule out the possibility of the involvement of local criminal gangs behind the incident.
