Tourist couple killed in road accident in HP

Shimla, May 12 (UNI) A tourist couple from Maharashtra were killed and the driver of their maxi cab injured after the vehicle fell into a gorge in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, police sources today said.

The accident occurred late last night near the 13,050-feet-high Rohtang pass, about 325 km from here, the sources said.

The sources said the couple identified as Nilesh and Sheetal Satara were killed after their speeding cab fell into the 150-feet gorge, while the driver of the cab was seriously injured.

The driver has been admitted to a government hospital at Kullu, the sources said.

The cause of the accident was, however, not immediately known, the sources said, adding that a case has been registered and investigations were on.
