TN Open University offers PG diploma in Tamil Research

Chennai, May 12 (UNI) The School of Tamil and Cultural Studies of the Tamil Nadu Open University offered a one year Post Graduate Diploma in Tamil Research Methodology from the ensuing academic year, for the first time in Tamil Nadu.

University Vice Chancellor M S Palanichamy said in a press release here today that those who wanted to join the PhD research courses and inclined to do research on Tamil Studies, without completing M Phil, this new course would be very useful for them.

He said the curriculam for new course would be based on three divisions, namely Research Methodologies, History of Tamil Reserach and Developments and Criticism Approaches.

The eligibility for one year course in Tamil medium would be a Masters degree in Tamil Studies.

He added that the selected candidates need not have any research guide and the candidates can directly submit their research project.
