Sirhind Fateh Diwas celebrated at Gurdwara Moti Ram

Fatehgarh Sahib, May 12 (UNI) 'Sirhind Fateh Diwas', to mark the victory over Sirhind by Baba Banda Bahadur, was celebrated by Bairagi Mahan at Gurdwara Moti Ram here with traditional fervour.

Senior Congress leader Krishen Kumar Bawa, who heads the Mahan Mandal, stressed that there was no political motive behind organising the function which was purely religious and all were invited to participate in it.

Sirhind MLA and Shiromani Akali Dal leader Didar Singh Bhatti also attended the function, where a number of leaders addressed a huge gathering of devotees.

The speakers paid glowing tributes to Baba Banda Bahadur, who had taken revenge from the Mughals and liberated Sirhind from the clutches of Mughals to lay the foundation of Sikh sovereign state and set the ideology of fighting against injustice.

UNI
