Srinagar, May 11 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir government has made it mandatory for the doctors selected under different categories to serve in their respective areas for four years.
This decision was taken following complaints that doctors selected on the basis of Resident of Border Area (RBA), Schedule Caste (SC) and Schedule Tribe (ST) categories are migrating to cities and other towns after completing training.
The minister of state for Health and power Peer Mohammad Hussain has said, this would ensure better medicare facilities to the people living in remote and far off areas.
Mr Hussain was speaking during his inspection to under construction emergency hospitals on 300-km-long Srinagar-Jammu national highway at Qazi Gund, Banihal and Ramban.
He said adequate medicinal staff with modern diagnostic facilities would be made available in these health institutions for better health management of the injured.
The Minister said, that the emergency hospital at Banihal is being brought under the ambit of National Rural Health Mission where under separate orthopedics, ophthalmology, gynecology and other disciplines would be opened and latest diagnostic infrastructure created are providing sophisticated and quality health care to the deserving.
