Rs 3 cr for expansion of Rohtak milk plant

Chandigarh, May 12 (UNI) The Haryana Government has earmarked a sum of Rs three crore for the expansion and upgradation of Milk-plant, Rohtak during the current financial year.

A spokesman for the Haryana Cooperation Department said the main objective of the expansion and upgradation of the milk plant was to raise the milk procurement capacity of the plant which was likely to touch the figure of 2.25 lakh litres per day during the peak season.

Milk procurement, he said, would further increase to about 3.75 lakh litres per day by 2010.

However, at present, the milk plant at Rohtak with its existing infrastructure could handle or dispose of maximum current milk procurement only. Therefore, it was essential that the capacity of Milk Plant was expanded or upgraded.
