P H Parekh elected new President of SCBA

New Delhi, May 12 (UNI) Mr P H Parekh has been elected as the President of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA).

He defeated his nearest rival Mr Rajiv Dutta by a margin of 476 votes in the elections held on May 11. Mrs Indra Sawhney has been elected the Vice President while Ms Pareena Swarup was elected honorary secretary of SCBA.

Ms Prerna Kumari is the new treasurer of SCBA.

Around 2,500 members had cast their votes yesterday.

It is the third term of Mr Parekh as President and Ms Pareena Swarup has also been selected as the secretary for the third time.

Mr C D Singh was elected assistant secretary while Mr Sushil Balwada was elected assistant treasurer for the year 2007-08. Besides this, six senior executive members and nine executive members were also elected.
