Four abducted Haryana youths rescued in Bihar

Gopalganj, May 12 (UNI) Four youths from Haryana who were allegedly abducted by the notorious Ajai Rai gang members last week, were rescued by the police here yesterday after a fierce gun battle.

Official sources today said acting on a tip-off, a joint police team of Haryana and Bihar raided the abductors' hideout at Semrahaighat area last night. On being challenged the abductors opened fire which was immediately retaliated by the joint police force and the gun battle continued for nearly two hours.

Later the police entered the hideout and rescued all the four youths, believed to have come to the district a few days ago in connection with a business deal.

There was, however, no report of any injury on either side, the sources added.
