Fake encounter : Gujarat CID teams leaves for Ahmedabad

Hyderabad, May 12 (UNI) After questioning the city Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rajiv Trivedi, the CRPF DIG Ramakrishnaiah and other police officials in connection with the AP police's alleged involvement in the fake enounter of Shorabuddin Sheik and his wife Kausar Bi, the Gujarat CID team led by Inspector General Geeta johri left for Ahmedabad today.

Sources said the team had recorded the statments of the two IPS officers and other police personnel during their three-day stay in the city. The team left for Gujarat this afternoon. It would return here again to interrogate the police officials, who had allegedly offered help to the Gujarat police to pick up the two victims from Hyderabad, after submitting a report to the Supreme Court on May 15 as per the court directions.

The Gujarat CB-CID team, led by CID Inspector General Geeta Johri, also questioned some police officials in connection with the fake encounter case.

Sources said Ms Johri, who came to the city on May 9 to investigate the alleged involvement of Andhra Pradesh police officials in the encounter, had interrogated some police officials who were on duty in the city Crime and Task Force branches when the couple was picked up by the Gujarat police from the city in 2005.
