Srinagar, May 12 (UNI) The People's Democratic Party (PDP) today said redrawing of boundaries and rotation of reserved constituencies should form part of delimitation process, while reiterating its support for the 25 per cent increase in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly seats in all the three regions.

Speaking at an All Party meeting here, Leader of PDP Legislature Party, Abdul Aziz Zargar, said the PDP, as part of the coalition government, has supported the 25 per cent increase in the Assembly seats in all the three regions in proportion to the present number of the constituencies.

''This is in tune with the decision taken on the subject by the State Cabinet in July last year,'' he said.

However, Mr Zargar added with regard to the normal delimitation (redrawing of boundaries and rotation of reserved constituencies), such a measure should form the part of the delimitation process and not taken up in isolation.

''Because by doing so (separately), the independence of overall delimitation will, in our opinion, result in more problems than solutions,'' he said.

Mr Zargar claimed delimitation of seats for the state Legislative Assembly ''is a continuous process and it has become a constitutional scheme of the country and the state to constantly review and revise the number of constituencies.'' The PDP in principal agreed to the need for the fresh proportionate delimitation of the seats to the Legislative Assembly, he said, adding the issue needed to be viewed in the backdrop of certain developments at the national and state levels.
