Srinagar, May 11 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (M) has said that allowing Kashmiri youths, who are still in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK), to return back would be a major Confidence Building Measure (CBM) towards bringing back peace and normalcy in the state.

State Secretary CPI (M) Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami stressed on the need to evolve broader consensus for providing amnesty to those Kashmiri youth, who crossed LoC and to facilitate them lead a peaceful and dignified life.

He said this would be a major CBM for Kashmiris.

Addressing a public meeting at Nihama Kulgam in south Kashmir today, ''Our party has taken this issue seriously in all the three Round Table Conference (RTC) held in past and time has come to act on this issue now.'' Mr Tarigami said much bloodshed has taken place and people have suffered a lot.

''We want to make Kashmir as a bridge of friendship between India and Pakistan,'' he said adding the people of Jammu and Kashmir would be the biggest beneficiaries of peace between the two countries.

Referring to the disappearance cases, Mr Tarigami demanded for constituting a credible mechanism relating to this issue.

Mr Tarigami urged the government to take action to rehabilitate widows, orphans and other victims of violence on priority as their conditions is pathetic and miserable. He said this issue was also considered in RTC and need of the hour is to implement it at the grass root level.
