60 year old dies in clash over land, 8 seriously injured
Jagadhari, May 12 (UNI) A 60-year-old man was killed, while eight people, four of them women, were seriously injured when two families of Medhuwala village in Yamunanagar district clashed over a protracted land dispute this evening.
Nearly a dozen members of both the families, including women, armed with wooden sticks and steel rods and some of them riding on tractors, clashed with each other over the ownership of a six Kanal plot, police sources said.
The old man, Umaruddin, was crushed under one of the tractors.
His wife and daughter-in-law were among the injured in the clash, sources said.
The injured were rushed to the Civil hospital here by other villagers, where condition of two was described as ''serious'' by the doctors.
The police, which reached the hospital, had begun investigating the case.
