UP poll outcome sign that voter not swayed by emotional issues:AIUMM
New Delhi, May 11 (UNI) Welcoming the results the Uttar Pradesh assembly polls, the All India United Muslim Morcha today said the outcome of the poll showed that voters could no longer be swayed by emotional issues.
''The SP, Congress and other secular parties should take a lesson from the poll results that one cannot win the vote of the public through emotional issues alone,''AIUMM national general secretary Mohammed Riyazuddin said in a statement.
''Infact, even in case of Muslims, their votes can only be gained by addressing the basic issues like employment, food, education, health and lifestyle,''he said.
In this context, he said the Mulayam Singh Government, despite getting a Dalit muslim bill passed in the state assembly, could not succeed in making it an election issue.
