Tension following death of 2 people in road accident

Mandsaur, MP, May 11 (UNI) Tension prevailed in Bhanpura town of Mandsaur district when angry people went on rampage and set a truck on fire following a road accident that killed two people last night.

A speeding jeep rammed two motorcycles last night killing former councillor Ahmed (44) and Arif (22) on the spot and injuring five people.

Agitated people ransacked a liquor shop nearby the spot and set a truck on fire besides damaging windowpanes of two buses.

Vandalism was also carried out at a hospital.

Senior police officials have reached Bhanpura, where additional police had been deployed.

Jeep driver had been arrested. No arrests had been made in connection with the disturbance. The situation was under control.
