Summer vacations to start in schools in Punjab from May 30

Chandigarh, May 11 (UNI) Schools in Punjab will close for Summer vacations from May 30 for a month.

Disclosing this here today , Education Minister Upinderjit Kaur said that every second Saturday in a month would be a closed day in all government, private aided and recognized schools in the state.

She said the Education Department had made some changes in the schedule of school holidays and the summer vacations would start from May 30 and end on June 30.

Autumn holidays will be for one week from September 8 to 14 and Winter vacations from December 25 to 31, she added.

The Education Minister further said that schools heads could announce two holidays in a year with prior permission of District Education Officers.
