Lucknow, May 11 (UNI) Bahujan Samaj Party's achievement of getting an absolute majority in Uttar Pradesh assembly polls today after 14 years was the outcome of new social engineering with Brahmins and Dalits.

BSP general secretary Satish Chandra Mishra was the brain behind the new formula with Mayawati projecting him as the Brahmin leader of the party.

The BSP, which had given more than 138 tickets to the upper caste candidates this time, said it was their faith in her party that they had jumped onto the BSP wagon.

''I thank Mr Mishra for encouraging us for the new Sarva Samaj ideogy to join the Brahmins and other upper caste with the party,'' she said in a press meet here.

Ms Mayawati said she recognised the party's success as the victory of the policies and principles of 'Sarva Samaj' of the BSP.

''I acknowledge the support of all the sections and castes, especially the upper castes Brahmins, who are responsible for the BSP's grand success at the hustings,'' she said.

However, Mr Mishra talking to UNI said that the elections were fought under the able leadership of Ms Mayawati and she is the one to be thanked for the landslide victory for her policies and efficient campaigning.

''We are just workers of the party and do whatever the party wants from us,'' he said.
