RS adjourned for day in view of 1857 War anniversary

New Delhi, May 11 (UNI) The Rajya Sabha was today adjourned till Monday in view of various functions in connection with the 150th anniversary of the First War of Independence.

Minutes after the House assembled for the day, Chairman Bhairon Singh Shekhawat announced that he had been instructed to suspend the proceedings of the House for the day to allow members to participate in various functions being held to pay tributes to the heroes of 1857 War of Independence on its 150th anniversary.
