Lifer to man on charges of murdering wife

Sangli, May 11 (UNI) A man was sentenced to life imprisonment on charges of murdering his wife by District Session Judge S S Choudhary here today.

According to the prosecution, Mallappa Channappa Nidoni(45) from Sankh village of Jat Tehsil of this district, doubted his wife Kalawati's (35) character.

Mallappa attacked his wife on March 20, 2005 night, with a sharp weapon and threw her dead body outside the village.

A total of eleven witnesses were examined in the case.
