Jan Sangharsh Manch stages dharna against fake killings

Ahmedabad, May 11 (UNI) Jan Sangharsh Manch activists today staged a dharna in the city against 'killing' of innocent citizens in 'fake encounters', under the garb of terrorism.

The participants were of the view that encounter killings could never have any place in a democracy and in a country governed by the rule of law, chairman of the manch Dr Mukul Sinha said.

With instances of fake encounters coming to light and judiciary taking note of it, there are still many more cases of victims accused of terrorism under POTA languishing in jail, he said.

The manch demanded that all cases of fake encounters must be enquired by the CBI or any other independent agency and all those involved in such killings, including top police official D G Vanzara and other police officials and politicians, must be prosecuted and punished in accordance with law, Dr Sinha said.
