CPI(ML) demands Md Shahabuddin's termination of membership

Patna, May 11 (UNI) The CPI(ML) today demanded the termination of incarcerated RJD MP Mohammad Shahabuddin's membership from Lok Sabha following his conviction by Special Court of Siwan in a kidnapping case.

CPI(ML) General Secretary Deepankar Bhattacharya told newspersons here that his party would a stage demonstration before Parliament on May 16 to press for the termination.

Mr Bhattacharya said Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterji should terminate membership of Md Shahabuddin from Lok Sabha to cleanse the political system from people having criminal antecedents.

He said the party had sought appointment from the President and Lok Sabha speaker to formally put its demand before them.
