Srinagar May 11 (UNI) Four soldiers of 7 Para were killed and one civilian injured, while security forces busted a hideout and recovered war like stores in Jammu and Kashmir.
A police spokesman said six soldiers were injured in a fierce encounter with Pakistani infiltrators at Lashidat near the Line of Control (LoC) on May 8. The injured were later admitted to a hospital where three of them, identified as Subedar Dileep Singh, Sepoy Ravi Kumar and Sepoy Hari Prasad eventually died.
Seven infiltrators were killed and two were captured by troops in the same encounter on May 8.
Troops shot at and injured one mentally-challenged person due to mistaken identity in north Kashmir, official sources said.
Sources said the mentally-challenged person, Ghulam Nabi Bhat, was passing near the camp of 46 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) last night when troops signalled him to stop.
Sources said Bhat did not stop and this led troops to open fire.
He was admitted to a hospital with injuries.
However, residents alleged that the troops fired without any provocation and justification.
