Speaker inaugurates receiving station at Balli Gulaba in Khour
Jammu, May 10 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Speaker Tara Chand today said the coalition government is committed to provide electricity at every nook and corner of the three regions of the state particularly far-off areas of the border belt.
After inaugurating 3.15 MVA, 33/11 KV Receiving Station at Balli Gulaba in Khour block, about 65 kilometers away from Jammu city this afternoon, Mr Tara Chand said the government is committed to provide uninterrupted power supply in the state.
The Receiving Station was constructed by Power Development Department under Rural Electrification Scheme at an estimated cost of Rs 116.52 lakh.
He said the people are facing acute power shortage and low voltage problems besides long power cuts due to existing 11 KV Balli Gulaba feeder emanating from 5 MVA, 33/11 KV Tanda Receiving Station.
Mr Tara Singh said after the construction of Receiving Station, about 15000 people of Balli, Dori, Dager, Danna and its adjoining areas would be benefitted and its long pending demand is now fulfilled. He asked the engineers to remain present in their respective power stations to tackle the shut down problem expected to arise during the summer season.
Responding to the demands of locals, he said the coalition government has already sanctioned Rs. 2.75 crore for the construction of Nathal link road while work is under progress.
