Solar power to be used for traffic signal in Bihar

Patna, May 10 (UNI) The state government has decided to use solar powered signal to deal with the growing traffic problem in the commissionary towns.

Official sources at Bihar Renewable Energy Developmment Agency(BREDA), the nodal agency to look after the affairs, said here today that the tender would be floated soon to complete the formalities.

The BREDA would be in regular touch with the central agency regulating traffic affairs.

With a view to boosting energy conservation programme in the state, the government had set up ''Energy Parks'' at Pusa Agriculture University, Samastipur, B N College and Magadh Mahila College, Patna, while the proposal for the same had been accepted to set up another park at Agriculture Science Centre, Arrah, and Maharani Janki college, Betiah.

The proposal to set up ''State-level Energy parks'' had also been referred to the Centre.
