No decision on China Eastern stake: Singapore Air

Singapore, May 10: Singapore Airlines, the world's biggest airline by stock market value, said on Thursday that it had not reached a decision on whether to buy a stake in China Eastern Airlines, after 10 months of talks between the two firms.

''The airlines are talking about possible cooperation, but there have been no decisions to pursue any other relationship at this point in time,'' a Singapore Airlines spokesman said.

Quoting sources close to the mainland carrier, the China Securities Journal reported on Thursday that China Eastern was in final talks to sell a strategic stake to state-controlled Singapore Airlines and that the two airlines had started to negotiate the price of the stake sale.
