PDF to safeguard state subject rights of J and K people: Minister

Srinagar, May 10 (UNI) The People's Democratic Front (PDF), a coalition partner in the Congress-led government in Jammu and Kashmir, has said the party would safeguard the state subject right of the people of the state.

PDF Chairman Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen, who is also the Transport Minister said the state subject right of people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh has historic significance which has been recognised by the Constitution of India.

He said his party would strengthen and safeguard this right of the people.

Addressing a public meeting in the central Kashmir district of Badgam, he expressed the confidence that Round Table Conferences (RTC) would result in restoration of permanent peace in the state and resolving every issues amicably.

He said the Confidence Building Measures (CBM) initiated by the Centre also created healthy atmosphere for peace at boarders and brought about improvement in Indo-Pak relations.

He hoped that improved relations between India and Pakistan would ultimately benefit Jammu and Kashmir.

Mr Yaseen also urged the leaders of both the countries for taking forward peace process saying dialogue is the only way to address problems.
