Allahabad, May 10 (UNI) The Allahabad High Court today directed the Uttar Pradesh government to ensure that in future no government employee remains at one place for more than six years.

The order was passed by Justice Tarun Agrawal on a writ petition of Akash Sharma, a deputy jailor, who challenged his transfer order.

The petitioner was transferred from Muzaffarnagar to Varanasi.

The HC stated that the above direction would come with immediate effect from the year 2007-08. Any transfer policy made or modified would include the above direction.

The petitioner had alleged he was transferred to Muzaffarnagar jail from Fatehgarh in June 2005 and was now again transferred, though other deputy jailors were continuing since long.

''The citizens have a Fundamental Right to good governance, which is only possible, if the government servants are politically neutral and are not transferred or victimised at the instance of a political party or politician,'' the court observed.

The court also gave transfer records of deputy jailors in the state.
