Memorial for 1857 martyrs to be raised in Ambala Cantt

Ambala, May 10 (UNI) A state-level memorial in the memory of martyrs of First War of Independence 1857 would be raised at Ambala Cantonment, Deputy Commissioner R.P. Bhardwaj today said.

He made the announcement after flagging off four bus load of local participants of the National Youth Rally being organised at the Red Fort, Delhi to mark the celebration of the occasion tomorrow.

He said the state government had decided to construct the memorial at the Netaji Subhash Bose Park Ambala Cantonment in the memory of those martyrs who sacrificed their lives while participating in the War at Ambala Army Cantonment.
