Margao observes bandh to protest eve-teasing incident

Panaji, May 10 (UNI) Commercial city of Margao observed a peaceful bandh today to protest the assault on a shopkeeper who was beaten up by few persons when he intervened while they were teasing his sister yesterday.

Meanwhile, the police arrested five of six people including the boy, engaged in eve-tesing, responsible for assaulting the shopkeeper at a market place.

Elaborate security arrangements are made to ensure that the incident does not turn into a communal conflagration, police said.
