Lokayukt directs administration for prompt disposal of cases

Kishanganj, May 10 (UNI) Bihar Lokayukta Justice RN Prasad has asked the District Magistrate and the Superintendent of Police to expeditiously address people's grievances and quickly respond to communications from his office.

The Lokayukta, during his maiden visit to Kishanganj today, disposed some of the eight pending cases, related mostly to service matters. He assured the complainants to look into their grievances, official sources here said.

Talking to newsmen here, he quoted a specific case where the land-holders whose premises were hired by animal husbandry department but whose rents were not paid for a period between 1990 - 2006, had been ordered to clear the entire backlog of arrears at one go.

He also explained the aims and objectives of the act before the petitioners.
