Karippur Airport to open new international terminal

Kozhikode, May 10 (UNI) Passengers thronging Karippur International Airport near here would enjoy enhanced amenities with the commissioning of a new international departure terminal on May 14.

Constructed at a cost of Rs 90 crore, the new terminal has an area of 5,615 and 9,762 square metre on the ground and first floors respectively, Airport Director R Veeraswamy said.

The terminal was constructed incorporating latest technology in order to provide hassle-free services to the passengers.

Apart from two escalators and elevators, the new terminal will have duty free shop, cyber cafe, flight information display system and plasma TV, he said adding the airport would introduce 605 new trollies as well.

The airport had also modified the parking area which could accommodate more vehicles reaching the airport.

The work on the new international arrival terminal was nearing completion and would be operational by next month, Mr Veeraswamy added.
