Johri team begins work in AP on fake encounter case

Hyderabad, May 10 (UNI) Gujarat Police IG Geeta Johri, who arrived here late last night today started her investigation into the Sohrabuddin fake encounter case.

However, Andhra Pradesh Police was tight-lipped about the visit only saying the team had sought accommodation and transport for investigators.

Meanwhile, sources said Ms Johri leading a three-member team, had come here to investigate the possible involvement of Andhra Pradesh Police in the fake encounter of Sohrabuddin and his wife Kauserbi who boarded a bus run by a private operator to Sangli.

Ms Johri told mediapersons late last night that she had come to investigate the involvement of AP police officials. However, she denied she had the names of the state policemen who were allegedly involved in the case.

Andhra Pradesh DGP M A Basith on May eight had given a clean chit to the state police in the case.
