Husband-wife cheat youth of Rs five lakh

Hoshiarpur, May 10 (UNI) The police has booked a husband and wife for allegedly cheating a youth of Rs five lakh on the pertex of sending him abroad.

The case under section 420 of the IPC was registered at the Dasuya police station against Paramjit Singh and his wife Balwinder Kaur alias Binder, residents of Dashmesh Nagar, Tanda.

According to the police sources, Gurjit Singh of Bodal village alleged that the husband and wife duo posed as travel agents and took the money from him with the promise to send him to Italy.

The husband and wife neither sent him abroad and nor did they return his money.
