Haryana:25 per cent subsidy on specific cotton seeds
Chandigarh, May 10 (UNI) The Haryana Agriculture Department has decided to give the benefit of direct subsidy of 25 per cent to cotton cultivators on the purchase of certain varieties of certified cotton seeds even if these are purchased from private agencies or dealers.
An official spokesman said the varieties of seeds on which the subsidy could be availed included HS-6, HD-123, HD-324, H-1098, HD-107, Shreshth-198, and CICR-2.
They could also get the subsidy on the purchase of hybrid seeds such as H-1117, CICA-310, HHH-223, LHH-144, AAH-1, HHH-81 and HHH-287.
The subsidy of 25 per cent which would be given to the cotton cultivators on the purchase of these seeds would be on the total market price of the seed, he added.
To avail the subsidy amount, the farmers would have to submit a copy of bill along with an application to the Agriculture Development Officer of their area concerned after the sowing of their crops.
The subsidy would be disbursed in cash or through cheque within two months after inspecting the field of the farmer, he added.
