Businessman assaulted and deprived of Rs 55,000

Hoshiarpur, May 10 (UNI) A group of seven unidentified motorcycles-borne youths assaulted businessman Rajan Katna of Mukerian with sharp edged weapons while he was collecting cash from shopkeepers at local Deva Colony last evening, police today said.

The miscreants then snatched Rs 55,000 and a gold chain from the victim and fled. The businessman was admitted at the local Civil Hospital.

According to the police sources, Rajan Katna who belonged to a family of local industrialist used to collect cash from the shopkeepers for supplying material to them.
