6 die, 40 injured in road mishaps
Jammu, May 10 (UNI) At least six people, including two of a marriage party, were killed and 40 others injured in separate road accidents across Jammu region, police today said.
Two 'baratis' died on the spot while 36 others injured when a bus, they were proceeding in, turned turtle near Samba bus stand.
Seriously injured 22 people were immediately shifted to the Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu.
One Dharam Paul, 45, and his son Pankaj Kumar, 16, of Hiranagar who were riding a scooter, were knocked to death by an unknown vehicle near railway crossing at Dayalachak this evening.
In another accident, a car plying between Thatri to Belha skidded off the road near Gref Camp at Karara, killing one Mohammad Sharief of Bhaderwah on the spot while four other received serious injuries.
A labourer, namely Riaz Ahmad, died after he fell down from a tipper at JP colony Chanderkote in Doda.
