3 injured in midnight strike by armed gang

Phagwara, May 10 (UNI) Six unidentified miscreants, armed with sharp-edged weapons, struck at two places in town and looted cash of Rs 27,000 in cash and injured three persons last night.

According to police sources the gang firsts looted Rs 7000 from a dairy near Mehli Gate after injuring its owner Ravi Dutt.

Then they targeted two employees of a marble trader, identified as Ajit Singh and Iqbal Singh, at Akalgarh village who were on their way home. They thrashed the two persons and robbed them of Rs 20,000 in cash.

All the three injured were admitted to the local civil hospital where the condition of Ajit Singh and Iqbal Singh was stated to be critical.

Police has registered cases in both the incidents.
