W Bengal delegation brief PM on Nandigram

New Delhi, May 9 (UNI) A delegation of West Bengal Legislative Assembly members today called on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh here and apprised him about the ground realities in Nandigram.

The delegation led by Mr Mans Bhuiya and Mr Pradeep Bhattacharya talking to newspersons said the Prime Minister after listening to them had said that they could go ahead with their agitations and other agenda within the constitutional framework.

Dr Singh also said the centre was fully aware of the situation there but could not intervene as it was the state's issue.

The delegation demanded that the centre strictly monitor the Sepcial Economic Zone(SEZ) policy and guidelines followed by the State.
